Spooktacular Things to Do in and Around Ocean County, NJ This Weekend

With Halloween right around the corner,.. literally, remain in the spirit, grab your family, wrangle your toddlers and do something fun this weekend! Whether you're looking to scare the diapers right off your littles ones, terrorize your teen, indulge in some wine, or just want some good old fashion fun, I got you covered! Here's a few ideas if you're at a loss of what to do this weekend in and around Ocean County.


Operation Halloween



When: October 25-26

Where: Joseph A Citta Scout Reservation, Barnegat, NJ

Hosted by the Southern Ocean Rotary Club and the Jersey Shore Council Boy Scouts of America, Operation Halloween features a blend of family-friendly activities and haunted attractions.

  • Family-Friendly Fun (4-7 PM): Enjoy Pumpkin Street, complete with games, food, trick-or-treating, a hay maze, pumpkin painting, and inflatable attractions.

  • Haunted Attractions (7-10 PM): Experience "Terror In The Pines," where you navigate a zombie-infested area with the help of Anti-Zombie Commandos.

Admission: $20 at the gate; free for kids 3 and under. Discount flyers available!


Terror at the Point

When: October 25-26, 7 PM - 10:30 PM

Where: Lacey Elks, Forked River

Prepare for chills and thrills with clowns, dolls, and monsters!

Admission: $20 for adults, $10 for kids under 10. This event supports the Lacey Elks Building Fund and Special Needs Committee.


Legends & Lore Boat Tour

When: Ongoing

Join a one-hour narrated boat tour of Tuckerton Creek and discover Jersey Shore legends, including ghost tales. You might even see Mrs. Leed's 13th child!

Tickets: $16 per person, which includes various fun activities and admission to the museum. Discount for Seaport Members using code Member2024.


Forever Forest: Nightmare Before Christmas

Allaire Village “Night of Frights”

When: Six nights throughout October

Don’t miss the spooky fun at Allaire Village! Pre-purchase tickets as events often sell out. Proceeds support the Historic Village.

Special Event: Bring the little ones to the All Hallows’ Eve Celebration on October 27th!


Harvest Hayride & More



When: October 26

Where: Bayview Park, LBI

Enjoy live music, a petting zoo, pumpkin picking, and free kids' activities during this fun-filled day.



Boo Bash

When: October 26

Where: The Learning Experience, Manahawkin

Join for pumpkin picking, decorating, arts and crafts, and a visit from our mascot, Bubbles the Elephant. This event is free for kids under 6!


HALLOWINE Food Truck Festival



When: October 26-27

Where: Laurita Winery

Indulge in delicious food from various food trucks while enjoying live music!

Admission: $13 online in advance, $15 at the gate; free for those under 21. Supervised children are welcome.

Live Music: Various bands performing throughout the weekend.


Bayside Fall Fest



When: October 26, 11 AM - 4 PM

Where: Bayside Chapel, Barnegat

Join for a free family-friendly event featuring a Black Light Trick or Treat hallway, character dance parties, and more!



3rd Annual Trunk or Treat

When: October 27, 12 PM - 3 PM

Where: Retro Fitness, Toms River

Get ready for a day filled with candy, vendors, face painting, character meet & greets, and fun games!
